Style Moment: Think VINTAGE

Noteworthy! I'm having a "style moment," so stop what you’re doing and have a look with me, will ya? OK, so. I adore this vintage LBD via Vintage Fashion Expo. And I just know the dress would look flattering on most women, especially the bust area *ahem* The look is giving soOo much neck, which is flattering! The over-sized pockets are a plus as well.

I want, please.

A "Wear It With" Tip: wear w /  chunky platform wedges! ;) #nikkistyle

P.S. oh, and did ya hear?

Trendwatching: CLASSIC BLACK

A) Casual
B) Tailored
C) Edgy

Black Is Beautiful! Today I'm simply paying homage to the color black -- the color that's always an option. And more importantly, black is undeniably slimming, ladies, and one of those day-to-evening transitional colors. But that's not it. You can also mix and match a variety of black shades, fabrics and textures, and 'pair up' with other cool colors. Seriously, black will forever be classic. I happily own many black pieces (like, more than enough), that are either tailored for work, edgy for evenings/weekends, or somewhere casually in between. Are you loving the forever trendy B L A C K just as much as I? Tell me how you rock YOUR black, write to me: nikki@nikkistyle.net xx :) -ns | Follow me on Twitter

Essentials: Reading, Fashion, Fun

Hey, Fashion Beauties. Since forever, I have been inspired by three things: reading, fashion, and fun...

Reading! My nose is always in a book or magazines. And since we now live in a digital era I also browse the Internet for the latest news in fashion, beauty and entertainment. I don't skim over content to (just) fixate on the luxuriousness of editorial photos, I actually read what's before my eyes -- every word. Positive, constructive commentary is informative and prompts me to explore beyond my own thinking.

Fashion! Place your attention on the woman in head-to-toe black chatting on the phone. Fierce look, right? The color black will forever be classic and chic. Admittedly, I've been playing with color over the summer, especially with green color palettes and a variety of prints. However, the days (and nights) I did/do wear all black, the compliments were endless. The Bottom Line: wearing a black outfit is flattering and gives the confidence level a boost...and if you feel good; you look good.

Fun! Whether it's online or in-store, boutique shopping is incredibly fun. Lately, my girlfriends and I have had plenty of chat-and-chill lunches where we would stalk the "what's new" section of Websites on our laptops, like shoptiques.com.

Why the plug? Well. SHOPTIQUES gives its customers options. Meaning, you can actually shop online by boutique in a selected city. Boutique shopping is a super fun and fantastic idea for a Girls Night In, or Out. I mean, who doesn't love shopping?

OK, I'M WOW'ED, NOW.

Style Notes | In my last post I went on and on about not being wow'ed enough to compile an Oscars best-dressed listand I stay true to that. However, after watching E! Fashion Police last night it hit me that I actually do love a Red Carpet look from head to toe: Camila Alves wore a breathtaking black Kaufmanfranco gown, sprinkled with beautiful Lorraine Schwartz jewels. And the hair? Winning! Now this here folks ... is an Oscars gown!

CHECK OUT THIS NEW ITEM! MATT BERNSON - Tundra Brown Shearling

Style Notes |
I usually prefer a taller heel, but I'll make an exception.
I like these boots. And I would try pairing them with a double layered sheer black dress (right), which is also a new item.
