Style No No! So there's ripped...then there's tore the f*ck up. Let's take a step back. Kim looks fab from the waist up; I adore a great blazer paired with a lightweight casual tank underneath. And while I am not gaga over what's trendy, I do own a few pairs of distressed jeans, but not as 'distressed' as Kim's. Holy Help! Girlfriend, the jeans are way too holey -- and the overall fit? Meh. Today I am sharing one of my favorite quotes by Oprah  Winfrey about passion. Some people that [I've come into contact with] are reserved when talking about their dreams and aspirations. Perhaps fearful? Truthfully, I find it refreshing to either discuss or discover with family and friends...their true passion...and believe that relationships deepen tremendously.

 “You've got to follow your passion. You've got to figure out what it is you love--who you really are. And have the courage to do that. I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams.” —Oprah 

Lesson Learned: Have open discussions with yourself or with others about what it is that YOU really want in life. I learned that in order to follow your passion you must step outside of your comfort zone. Take calculated risks! The unknown can be scary yet liberating at the same time. In March, I commented that I was diggin' Nicki Minaj's cover shoot with ELLE magazine (April 2013); her "toned-down" look was much-anticipated — and since then her style has been slowly evolving into something a little less theatrical and outlandish ... many onlookers are giving the head-nod of approval. Indeed change is a wonderful thing. That being said, I do appreciate the fact that Nicki is not losing her overall swag in the midst of the change. Ms. 'Trini To De Bone' is still sassy, still classy (in a bad girl sort of way?), and will not hesitate to speak on issues that matter, such as her experience with bullying as a child to personal opinions about Mariah. Yeah, I had to mention the "feud." Bap! Bap!

Below is a snip-it of Nicki's interview with Marie Claire:

What's one thing that pisses you off instantly? "People who don't own up to their mistakes. They'll make every excuse in the book, as opposed to just saying, ‘Damn, yeah, I f*cked up.'"

Do you work out? If so what’s a normal routine, Nic?!!! "I don't work out. I hate it. I don't mean to sound super-lazy. I tried it for a time. I lost my boobs. When I feel I need to lose weight, I just change what I eat. I cut carbs and sugar. I'll do water and protein and fruit. But I do think that you should work out. My doctor tells me that, and I get it. Do cardio, Barbz."

10 Best-Dressed Newswomen: Whoops! Vanity Fair Forgot To Mention One Other Woman

Talk Back! Last weekend, I peep'd Vanity Fair's 10 Best-Dressed Newswomen round-up [source], which lacked diversity by the way (no surprise). Women such as, Barbara Walters, Megyn Kelly, Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer, Mika Brzezinski, Savannah Guthrie, Elizabeth Vargas, Tamron Hall (only African-American listed), Margaret Brennan, and Natalie Morales -- made the list. Congrats! Honestly, all 10 newswomen are beautiful with great personal style; however, I was surprised not to see Ann Curry in the line-up. Curry's fashion choices grabs my attention -- with her comfy, professional, fun and youthful looks -- which are exceptionally color-coordinated-to-perfection. 

"I choose to fill my days with what I'm passionate about, and live with purpose." -Ann

Mag Notes! Check out actress Lauren London on the cover of Vibe VIXEN, June 2013. I'm a super sucker for eye-catchy magazine cover shoots, as well as DIVERSITY! Seriously, I loathe looking at the same 'ole faces on the cover of glossies (i.e. Beyoncé, Rihanna), and am thrilled to see Lauren come out-of-the-woodwork to grace the cover of Vibe VIXEN. In the interview excerpt below, Lauren reveals her beauty regimen, chats about sneeks -- and I am excited to learn that Miss. London < 3's Rachel Zoe (one of my faves!)

VIBE Vixen: Tell me about your beauty regimen? What are some of your must-haves? Lauren London: I have to have MAC spiked [eyebrow pencil] and bronzer. 

I know you’re hiding some beauty secrets, too. [Laughs] As  long as your eyebrows are clean and you have a clean face, you’re good to go.  

Any style trends you’re anxious about or that you want to die this summer? I’m really over everyone wearing Jordan’s, even though I wear Jordans [Laughs]. But I’ve been wearing Jordans since ’92. I really want everyone to put it away. 

You don’t believe the girls rocking J’s are real Jordan heads? No. I just feel like there are certain girls that never have worn them before. 

Now, the photo shoot was very 70s inspired. How does that style era influence you today? It influences everything. I love anything inspired by the 70s, from the music to the clothes. Capricorn has this joke that I dress like Stevie Nicks. 

What celebrity or influences out there are killing the style trends across the board? I love anything Cameron Diaz. Gwen Stefani, Victoria Beckham. I like Halle’s style. Charlize, she’s effortless. But I dress more like Drew Barrymore. I want Rachel Zoe’s closet. 

Who doesn’t? Who are your top 3 favorite designers? Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and McCartney.

...there you have it, my 'Best-Dressed' list from last night's Golden Globe Awards (Red Carpet)!

Unlike last year, there were literally several gorgeous gowns on The Carpet [this year].

Color Trends consisted of elegant nudes, eye-popping reds/coral, and figure-flattering basic blacks. However, I did secretly admire one gown that was ... let's say "different" from the bunch. (Drum Roll, Please?) I actually liked Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera. You read right. I liked Lucy's gown. The Elementary actress wore them florals like it was nobody's business, and I think she'd kick your ass if you gave her any lip about it. 

Anyways, the statement prints coupled with Lucy's confidence really won me over. Honestly, I not only appreciate-but prefer unconventional.

HuffPost Style posted a Quick Poll: Do you like Jessica Biel's ruffled wrap dress? Vote: a) Yes! It's a mature look for her. b) No way! I know she can do better than that.

The readers speak. 54.06% liked the look and 45.94% did not. Okay, now, let me weigh in: The ruffled Gucci dress is nice and pretty and romantic. But I don't think it's necessarily the right style choice for the 30-year-old Hollywood actress. Let's face it, Biel is a sex kitten with a banging toned body and I want to see her styled in clothing that compliments all those favorable assets! 

'Net buzzin'. "We actually really like this look on Jessica," says the folks over at Coco Perez. However, peeps at HuffPost Style wished that the bride-to-be "would have gone with something a little more fun." 

I suppose a playful outfit could have worked. Though, if she really wanted to make an impact, then a pant and sharp blazer with slicked-back hair would have been a preferred look for Biel. After all she was attending Variety's Power of Women event. What do you think? Tell me on Twitter.

Kate Beckinsale, all the way! Kate definitely rocked the hottest bod on yesterday's Red Carpet — looking like a million bucks in Cavalli. The cream-colored gown accentuates every curve on that woman's body. Needless to say, Kate looks physically fit ALL of the time. Perhaps it's movie roles such as 'Underworld' that keeps the 38-year-old actress lean and in-shape? Not quite; Kate has more ways to stay fit.

Kate Beckinsale's Five (5) Favorite Ways to Stay Fit 

1. She works out with trainer Valerie Waters. Because sometimes it takes someone else to push you that little extra bit, Beckinsale works out with celebrity personal trainer Valerie Waters to really get results. 

2. Cycling. Fitness is truly a family affair for Beckinsale, who loves to burn calories and get fresh air by bike-riding with her daughter. 

3. Walking. Whether it's hiking the hills of L.A. or walking her pup on the set of a movie, Beckinsale squeezes activity whenever she can — even if she's rocking a pair of heels! 

4. Yoga. Beckinsale stays long, lean and flexible for movie roles of all types by doing yoga regularly. 

5. Circuit training. To keep her muscles strong and toned for action roles, Beckinsale likes to do circuit training where she goes from one weight-lifting exercise to the next without rest between. These types of workouts build strength and burn big-time calories! [Source]
