Editor's Picks! Tie Dye Madness

Style Notes! Planet Blue is featuring some of the coolest (boho chic) tie dye clothing, and below are a few of my faves! PS. I remember making tie dye t-shirts many moons ago while in elementary school -- so much fun! HmMm, I think I might have to regress, and facilitate a "tie-dye-t-shirt-making" session one weekend. Stayed tuned for a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) post? :) xx -ns

An Accessories Line?

My Necklace, I Love It!

Daydreaming! Psst! Posted the above image via Instagram on Friday, and it seriously got me thinking. (I would love to design my own accessories line one day.)

Forever "Favorited" Tweet
Specifically, I am obsessed with bold statement necklaces + heavenly handbags + "one of a kind" exotic rings — and I am forever browsing retail stores and vintage boutiques for amazingly cool pieces. I think I would initially begin this journey by making Do-It-Yourself (DIY) accessories for myself ... and then see what kind of feedback I receive. Eek!?

Have you been daydreaming, too? Tell me about it on Twitter; @reply me. I'll be waiting...

"Go On Green" by OPI

Exhibit A: After three coats of polish.
Beauty Notes! I took a short break from my signature Sally Hansen nail colors and polished up with (a different brand) "Go on Green" by OPI. At the store, the color looked really cool in the bottle, so I bought it. Then I put the pedal-to-the-medal and raced home to try out my new color. The Verdict: Not exactly thrilled by the process.

After applying the 1st coat I loathed the color, it looked way too dingy. However, I refused to quit and was determined to make good on my buy, so I applied a 2nd coat in hopes that the color would look better. Still no luck. I didn't like it. So I applied a 3rd coat and finally, Walla! But it took a gazillion years to dry. I wasn't particularly thrilled about that. I don't have the patience to apply three coats of the same nail polish color...then a clear coat...and then have to wait until forever for my nails to dry. What is that? [Exhibit A.]

Spoiled? Perhaps. I've been using Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri™ consistently for months, and I must say that the brand sure does live up to the expectation of
Fast Dry Nail Color. And one coat will usually suffice. I guess I'm just a Sally Girl.

Feeling A Tad Festive For 'The Fourth'

Style Notes | My nail color of the month is fuchsia, but today I'm feeling festive, as I have decided on a whim to paint my nails red, blue (minus the white) in honor of America's birthday.

Accomplish The Look: Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri™ Rapid Red #09 and Xtreme Wear Blue It #250.

Let your nails dry for  two minutes -- and then apply a coat of clear polish, for example, use Sally's Clearly Quick #01. Good Luck, Beauties.

And Happy Independence Day! -ns
