Rachel Roy’s "Formula for Fall 2014"
NY Fashion Week (Feb. 2014) It's really simple and straightforward: RR's entire collection for F/14 is crazy, sexy, feminine -- with all the right finishings and pops of in-your-face colors, I think. Specifically, I'm crushing on the cobalt blue! Bravo, Rach.

Obsessed: Stretch-Crepe Blazer

Obsessed! I'm head over heels in love with blazers. Listen: I cannot stress how much I adore transitional pieces and a blazer is [just that]. I pair my blazers with jeans, skirts, shorts -- you name it. And every September I browse my closet in efforts to figure out which blazers need to be donated as well as which colors/style of blazer(s) I'll need for the {chilly} season.
Featuring: Stretch-Crepe Blazer by Theory in grey, also avail in black. Grey blazers are perfect; they look super chic with just about any pant color. Wearing a grey blazer with denim is one of my favorite go-to 'Casual Friday' looks. Yes! Every fashionista should have one, or two, or ten blazers ;)

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (NYC): My Pick! Look 18 - Alice + Olivia SS/14
The collection: "It's preppy meets pretty."
Listen up, it's very simple. I wholeheartedly adore the splashes of vivacious colors as well as the mixing of prints and stripes, which is one of the best trends ever. And that crop top? Adorable. And the knee-length full swing skirt? Can I have it? Stacey Bendet (designer of Alice + Olivia) has proven collection after collection to know how to through a sweet playful party -- oh yes -- I've been to one of her rooftop presentations :)
Anyways, you did it again Stacey! Great collection.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (NYC): Rebecca Minkoff's Spring Collection
![]() |
New York Fashion Week! It's a sunny Saturday morning, the television channel is set on Bravo on The Rachel Zoe Project, and I am reviewing collections whilst updating my LookBook(s). You can sort of say that I'm in full fashion mode — yes that's fair to say — actually. First up, Fashion Designer, Rebecca Minkoff. Minkoff's spring/summer 2014 collection is infused with cultural inspiration: the Latin American female. The pieces are spicy and colorful yet balanced with easy, wearable, sporty pieces.

Editor's Picks! Tie Dye Madness
![]() |
Style Notes! Planet Blue is featuring some of the coolest (boho chic) tie dye clothing, and below are a few of my faves! PS. I remember making tie dye t-shirts many moons ago while in elementary school -- so much fun! HmMm, I think I might have to regress, and facilitate a "tie-dye-t-shirt-making" session one weekend. Stayed tuned for a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) post? :) xx -ns

Winter Inspiration (Personal Faves!)
![]() |
[Black on Black] Black Leather Skirt + Black Tights |

Velour Tanks |
![]() |
Edged-Out Booties |
![]() |
Leather Jackets |
![]() |
Festive Feathers |
Style Notes! Some of my favorite items for winter includes the following:
1) Leather - leather skirts, leather shorts, leather gloves. 2) Slinky Tanks; currently I am obsessing over velour because it's a thicker fabric, and excellent for layering during the chilly winter season. 3) Booties! Gosh, I love a pair of sexy booties with lots of heel-height, and certainly favoring bold colors. 4) Tailored Leather Jackets; the look is stylish and makes an impressive fashion statement. 5) "Festive" Feathery (Flirty Mini) Skirts.
My picks are on-trend as well as transitional. Meaning, I can transition many (if not all) of these pieces from winter to spring, such as the velour tank, booties, and leather jacket.
What are YOUR faves for winter?

Kirna Zabête at Target: Witnessing Plenty "Downtown Cool" Pieces
![]() |
Style Notes | I was able to get a sneak peek of Kirna Zabête's clothing for Target at a Pop-Up Shop during Fashion's Night Out last Thursday. Though exciting, I didn't get to really examine anything due to the mad rush of fashion fanatics.
However, I got up, close, and personal with "downtown cool" pieces at today's launch. And, I must say that I totally liked what I witnessed -- stylish tops, blazers, dresses, and accessories that were/are mix and match-able, as well as a boatload of day to evening transitional goodies.

I adore the "For Love & Lemons" girl; she totally reminds me of someone...me! A strong-minded and confident yet free-spirited female who dances to the beat of her own drum.
About the For Love & Lemons Girl:
The For Love & Lemons Girl is effortlessly chic. She loves life, freedom and only the best parties. She is controversial and adventurous, but never reckless. She stands out on her own. She is the new tomboy. She knows what she wants. And exactly how to get it.

Mid-Week Obsession, KAYLA CLUTCH
![]() |
Style Notes! O.M.G. Fashion Beauties! Look what I spotted via StyleWatch magazine's June issue (left) - a wicked cute color-block cross-body universal clutch. I highlighted in pink the URL case-mate.com as a reminder to get a closer look. And when I browsed on over to the source site, I fell deep in lust. YIKES!
Now, the gold chain strap is adjustable. You can simply remove it. Me? I love gold but I'd toss the chain, especially if I'm carrying the clutch/wallet to work; the gold + chain + neon is a bit loud.
Below is a slightly different color-combo from what StyleWatch featured. Lipstick Pink and Marine Blue is such a hot mixture of my fave colors! Love it? Shop it. (video, keep scrolling!)

Kate Beckinsale in Roberto Cavalli; Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry |
![]() |
Charlize Theron in Christian Dior; Cartier Jewelry |
Letter To the Editor.
Kate Beckinsale, all the way! Kate definitely rocked the hottest bod on yesterday's Red Carpet — looking like a million bucks in Cavalli. The cream-colored gown accentuates every curve on that woman's body. Needless to say, Kate looks physically fit ALL of the time. Perhaps it's movie roles such as 'Underworld' that keeps the 38-year-old actress lean and in-shape? Not quite; Kate has more ways to stay fit.
Kate Beckinsale's Five (5) Favorite Ways to Stay Fit
1. She works out with trainer Valerie Waters. Because sometimes it takes someone else to push you that little extra bit, Beckinsale works out with celebrity personal trainer Valerie Waters to really get results.
2. Cycling. Fitness is truly a family affair for Beckinsale, who loves to burn calories and get fresh air by bike-riding with her daughter.
3. Walking. Whether it's hiking the hills of L.A. or walking her pup on the set of a movie, Beckinsale squeezes activity whenever she can — even if she's rocking a pair of heels!
4. Yoga. Beckinsale stays long, lean and flexible for movie roles of all types by doing yoga regularly.
5. Circuit training. To keep her muscles strong and toned for action roles, Beckinsale likes to do circuit training where she goes from one weight-lifting exercise to the next without rest between. These types of workouts build strength and burn big-time calories! [Source]

Look of the Day: Kourtney Kardashian
![]() |
Rumor has it that the Kardashian sisters will be featured on the cover of Lucky magazine in November. All three sisters will have their very own separate cover. Honestly, I don't care what anyone says...these girls are doing one thing: winning.

Kourtney, Khloe and Kim look FAB (right); however, I'm loving Kourtney's full, high-waisted black skirt and black/white striped long sleeve sweater; it's girly and flirty! Also, Kourt accessorizes with splashes of color via her bangles, rings, and earrings. (Not a fan of the earrings.)
Kourt's look is totally attainable and consists of figure-flattering pieces.
