KANYE WEST -- Spring 2012 Ready-To-Wear: The Editor's Picks and Commentary!

All Photos via style.com
Mr. Kanye West recently debuted his highly anticipated collection at Paris Fashion Weeka women's lineand the critics sure have a lot to say: "Kanye should stick to rapping." "Kanye's collection is disappointing." Kanye should have done a men's line first." "Kanye's collection is ghetto and far from trendy." The harsh comments went on and on.

Personally, I think Kanye made a good first attempt. I will also go on to say that there is nothing wrong with celebrity designers, as they are just like us ... people with passion for an array of different things. And, what's wrong with that? But however, I will agree with style.com in which they wrote that "conquering his new medium [fashion] is a work in progress." Fair to say. Anyways, Kanye has a cool personal style with trendsetter potential; I am looking forward to what's next in terms of his fashion venture. Below, see my favorite looks from Kanye's collection, I find them to be hip & trendy and bondage-like sexy. All looks got attitude!

Badgley Mischka Fall 2011 Ready-To-Wear: Gloves! Gloves! Gloves!

Look No. 1
Look No. 2
Look No. 3
Style Notes | Extra long black gloves was a theme during Badgley Mischka's recent runway show (NY, Feb 2011). And if you've been following this style blog then you may have noticed that I love looks with an edge. I can definitely see myself incorporating extra long leather gloves into my 2011 Fall Wardrobe.

Style Notes | (New York Fashion Week, Feb 2011) Fashion designer and member of the CFDA Bibhu Mohapatra did an exceptional job with outwear for fall 2011. I love the length of the coatswith hemlines at or just slightly above the knee.

3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2011 Ready-To-Wear Collection: the nikkistyle review!

Style Notes | "It's about these chic women who ride bikes to work, to brunch, to a cocktail party," Lim said backstage before the show.” [Source] That's funny. I am so not a ride a bike to work kind of girl. But I do like some of the themes seen within Phillip Lim’s Fall 2011 Ready-To-Wear collection, presented during New York Fashion Week:

Green is a color that adds a playful pop of sophistication to an outfit. So seeing different shades and fabric textures of the color made me excited. And while I don’t own a ton of green piecesthe pieces I do ownare among the best in my wardrobe. Seriously, green has the ability to wake up a dull outfit instantly!

Leather Sleeves is the second theme that left me gasping for air. Because I love leather! But sometimes it's difficult to find pieces that are not overly dramatic, like for the office. That is until I saw Phillip Lim's perfect balance of comfortable fabric and leather. Superb! These looks are so my style!

Final notes: I still won't be riding my bike to work, brunch or a cocktail party in any of these looks. However! I will arch my arm on the car steering wheel in efforts to show off my leather Phillip Lim sleeves.

S/S 2011 RTW - EMILIO PUCCI - HOT DETAIL SHOTS & RUNWAY VIDEO CLIP

Runway Notes! (Milan, 2010) Emilio Pucci ripped the runway with his amazing to-die-for pieces. I found myself leaning in to stalk the details of each look. And call me all types of crazy...those jaw-dropping brown lace up over-the-knee peep-toe boots are certified bad a*s. I was acting a fool when I first saw them.

Overall, I thought the collection was incredibly cohesive. I felt a sense of 'sexy romance' happening, as the longer pieces were flow-y with peep show side slits and showoff necklines
— simply breathtaking. By far one of my favorite S/S 2011 collections.

S/S 2011 RTW - TRACY REESE (My Top 6!)

Style Notes | (NY, Sept. 2010) Detroit native Tracy Reese never fails to bring us a chic collection that screams femininity—designing a range of pieces fit for women of all body types. This collection is celebratory of women, encouraging them to feel confident in their own skin while rockin' a clean-cut modern style.

Sometimes when clothing, especially tops, are too loosely fit it makes a woman appear box-y, which is so not flattering. But not my top picks! Each loose-fitting piece was thoughtfully designed and styled (creating shape!) which was obviously a priority for Reese. The garments look like they effortlessly slide on the body like butter.

S/S 2011 RTW - BETSEY JOHNSON
SKATEBOARDS! BIKES! CHAINS!
(My Top 5!)

Style Notes | One of the themes of Betsey Johnson's runway show during NY Fashion Week (Sept. 2010) was Ride Me. Just look around the necks' of the gorge models and you'll see in-your-face sparkle-y chokers (i.e costume-y jewelry) [Ha] So BJ Style!

In addition to the Ride Me theme, I believe the sailor-inspired suits to be pretty cool. But none of those pieces made my top five.

While deciding which runway looks I liked best, I thought: W
hat would make a fabulous Halloween outfit? Last year I was dressed in sexy dark goth attire; this year I want to turn things up a notch and dress in bright colors!
